July 3rd Night Dive- Commercial Blvd

7:00 pm
We planned to meet at 7:15 PM to check conditions and plan the dive. If everything goes as planned, we should be entering the water around 8:00 PM.

Dive Location

Commercial Blvd. East all the way to the beach
Make a right at the light, and turn left in Datura Ave.  Then find parking.

Once we arrive at the location, we will determine how to enter based on the current and waves condition. Depth will not exceed 25 feet with a max bottom time of 130 min. Make sure you bring sufficient weights considering we are diving on Salt water, especially if you are going to be wearing a wetsuit. Make sure you have a TANK LIGHT (or glowstick), PRIMARY LIGHT, and BACK-UP LIGHT.

  From I-95: I guess you will be coming from the south, so get off at Commercial Blvd (Exit 32) and go East (Right) 3.3 miles to FL-A1A/N Ocean Dr, turn Right(South), continue 0.1mi to Datura Aveand turn Left (East) to a small parking lot. There is a Dive Shop on Commercial & A1A, Deep Blue Divers. Use this address for directions: 100 Datura Ave, Lauderdale-By-the-Sea, FL

From the Turnpike: Take the Turnpike Norht to Commercial Blvd(Exit 62) and go East to FL-A1A/N Ocean Dr, turn Right(South), continue 0.1mi to Datura Ave and turn Left (East) to a small parking lot.
Please bring Quarters to pay for parking @ $1/Hour, you will need 4 hrs to be on the safe side. The earlier, the easier to find parking close to the entry point.

Dive Site

Dive Site is called Lauderdale By The Sea (also known as The Honeycomb)

 

Tank Mixture
Air, 21% Oxygen.

Equiptment
All divers will be responsible to rent or bring their own equiptment including: Mask, Fins, Snorkle, BC, Regulator with Pressure and Depth Gauge, a timing device, tanks (with appropriate NITROX mix if applicable), weights and lights (tank, primary, and back-up). The club has some sets of gear available on a first come, first serve basis. Contact any club officer to reserve ASAP.

Free to go, just take care of your rental.

All divers will adhere to the Clubs Safe Diving Practices. Emergency oxygen for first aid will be available aboard the boat, and on shore if shore dive.
