The Proteus, a 220 foot steel hulled freighter, sits silently in the Key Biscayne reef site. With 18 feet of relief, the ship provides shelter for a variety of fish and a fascinating background for underwater photographers. With her relatively shallow depth, The Proteus is a great second dive. As this wreck has been down since 1985, there is lots of growth that makes for great close up
photograpy. Look off the wreck from time to time, large fish are often seen in this area.
